In helping develop and design the strategic implementation of HSX’s MarketStreet, Michael takes advantage of his unique blend of expertise spanning business, clinical medicine, and research.

Michael was previously a member of the house-staff in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.  He has also successfully led venture-stage companies through their growth cycle.  Most recently, he was involved in developing imaging recognition and GPS technologies for the blind and visually impaired as part of SeeNow — a company that was ultimately acquired in 2012.

As a seasoned consultant, he has provided organizations with high-level strategic advisory on implementation of platform-based products and services.  He has recently directed his career to health-information technology products focused on bringing value to patients by increasing accessibility and usability of their health data.  Michael was a founding member of HSX’s Innovation Committee, serving in the capacity of economic consultant, physician, and entrepreneur. 

Michael received his bachelor’s degree in business management and economics from Babson College and earned his doctor of medicine degree from Temple University School of Medicine.  He has extensive research experience in healthcare, previously working at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals including JAMA Neurology, Child’s Nervous System, and Neurology.
