HSX MarketStreet opens API access to HSX's Clinical Data Repository and connections to EMRs to support application development, interoperability and partnerships that will improve health, and access to healthcare data, for consumers. In addition, Rakesh oversees the technical implementation staff and set of vendor relationships that make possible the full range of health information exchange activities of HSX.
Rakesh is experienced in a unique mix of public- and private-sector management consulting; operations, project, and program management; and implementation efforts in healthcare — especially in health-information adoption and Meaningful Use. Prior to joining HSX, he worked as a Senior Project Manager, in a consulting capacity, for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey on the company’s Payment Innovation Program, which focused on making the insurer’s local ACO/PCMH/EOC/P4P programs available for all BCBS members across the country. This was an enterprise-wide program to exchange data with other Blues and the BCBS Association using the Direct secure messaging standard. Prior to that, he had worked for the New Jersey Regional Extension Center (NJ-HITEC), now part of the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), and was instrumental in making this program the foremost REC program in the country.
Rakesh also has experience working in the telecommunications and commodities business areas and has been involved in multiple start-up initiatives — and, as a result, has vast experience in managing complex projects with limited resources. He brings proactive, creative problem solving to operational challenges. He is a customer-focused leader who effectively analyzes complex business needs and delivers cost-effective solutions.
Rakesh is an internationally focused bilingual professional with a comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. and Indian business cultures. An effective consensus builder, he works effectively in politically complex environments.
Rakesh has an undergraduate degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Anna University, India, as well as an MBA degree in management of technology and MS degree in environmental engineering, both from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
